Home School Agreement

We ask that all families who would like their child to come to Drighlington Primary School to read the Home School Agreement very carefully to ensure that they are able to commit to working together to ensure the best possible education for their child. It is vital that we all have a clear understanding about how we can support each other. We as a school are committed to this agreement and we ask families to do the same.

As a family, we promise to:

  • Support the aims and values of the school and promote strong home/school partnership.

  • Understand and support the school rules and expectations.

  • Ensure our child attends daily, arrives on time, and is collected promptly.

  • Inform school of absence on the first morning it occurs.

  • Ensure school uniform is always worn, including safe dark shoes, and that a bottle of fresh water is provided daily.

  • Support and encourage our child’s learning, including reading and homework, as expected.

  • Attend all Parent Consultation Evenings and support school events when possible.

  • Raise any concerns or queries directly with school, rather than using social media.

  • Always model respectful and positive behaviour towards staff, pupils, and other families.

Our child/children will:

  • Always try their best, show resilience, and make us proud of their actions.

  • Show respect for staff, pupils, property, and the school environment.

  • Value learning and follow school rules to help everyone reach high.

  • Wear the full school uniform with safe dark shoes.

  • Listen carefully to adults and work hard in lessons.

  • Be kind, polite, and never bully or use social media to upset others.

  • Demonstrate honesty, helpfulness, and a positive attitude.

  • Work hard to meet their personal and class targets.

  • Complete all homework on time.

The school will:

  • Encourage children to do their best, develop resilience, and reach high.

  • Promote a culture of respect and kindness throughout school life.

  • Provide engaging and high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all pupils, including those with special or additional needs.

  • Keep families informed about learning, progress, and school events.

  • Celebrate achievements and provide support where needed.

  • Uphold consistent behaviour and rewards policies to promote positive attitudes and success.

  • Encourage good attendance, punctuality, and high standards of dress.

  • Teach children to value and care for their environment, property, and community.

Together, we will ensure that every child at Drighlington Primary can Respect, show Resilience, and Reach High!
