Wrap Around Care
Drighlington Primary School Wrap Around Care includes:
Breakfast Club: 7.45am until 8.45am and After School Club: 3.15pm until 5.30pm
The provision is based in the school Community Room, with access to an enclosed outside playground and school playing field.
In our Wrap Around Care we aim to provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment, offering a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in our care. We want parents and carers to feel confident that their children are well looked after and that they believe our provision gives good value for money.
We value our relationship with parents and carers and are committed to working in partnership with them to provide top quality play and care for our children. We will:
- Welcome parents and carers at all times to discuss any concerns or have a general
- Keep them informed of any changes to opening and closing times, fees and charges and procedures
- Be consistent and reliable to enable them to plan with confidence and peace of mind
- Share and discuss child’s experiences
- Be available to discuss any views they have about what we do well and what could be improved upon.
- Listen to your views and concerns to ensure that we continue to meet you and your child’s needs
Extracurricular Activities
The requirements of the National Curriculum are the foundation of what goes on at our school but there are many other activities that enhance the children’s education. We aim to make the children’s time at Drighlington Primary School as exciting, relevant and memorable as possible. To this end we organize many educational visits and visitors during the normal school day. We offer a range of extra-curricular clubs and activities and these vary throughout the year. We also offer a residential visit for Y6 pupils.
We enter local sports competitions, including inter-school events and have regular friendly matches against teams from local schools. We are proud of the way that the children of Drighlington Primary School acknowledge the achievements of others when involved in competitive sports. We aim to provide an after school programme in which the children can enjoy, participate and develop confidence and competence in a wide range of activities. Through this programme we also promote cultural capital, healthy living, love of arts and a healthy lifestyle.
