Are you enthusiastic about education? Do you have time to spare? Do you want to make a difference to children achieving their potential?
If the answer is yes, then you may just be the person we need. Drighlington Primary school is looking for new co-opted governors to join our friendly governing body.
Our Governors work closely with the Head Teacher and Senior Leaders to ensure that all statutory requirements are met. Governors ask challenging questions and play a leading role in ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school. Our Governors also hold the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and oversee the financial performance of the school and makes sure its money is well spent. In addition, our Governors are highly committed to the welfare and to the principles of quality first teaching so that children reach their full potential.
Our co-opted Governors come from a variety of backgrounds and bring a range of skills that enhance the work of the school in order to support pupils achieve their potential. Consequently we are keen to attract new governors with a wide range of backgrounds and skillsets.
If you have experience in any of the following areas of expertise we are keen to hear from you:
• Finance
• Human Resources
• Legal
• Strategic management
• Education - particularly work with young people with SEND
• or an area of work expertise that you think would support the school in its ambitions for pupils
